Dance floor at a South Florida corporate event

Corporate Events · South Florida

Corporate events that people actually stay at.

Holiday parties, galas, conferences and product launches, from a conference room to a convention center floor. I bring the sound, support the program, and keep the room at the right energy without ever putting your brand at risk.

What I cover

Every kind of company event

From a hundred-person office holiday party up to a convention center floor. Area notes for West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Wellington. Bigger rooms need more planning and more equipment, but the way I run the night does not change.

Holiday parties

The one everybody remembers. Dinner music that lets people talk, then a dance set that gets a mixed-age, mixed-department room on the floor together.

Galas & fundraisers

Program-driven nights with awards, speakers and a run of show that has to land on time. Music that carries the room between segments without stepping on the message.

Conferences & general sessions

Walk-on and walk-off music, session audio, microphone handoffs, and the transitions that keep a multi-hour agenda from dragging.

Product launches & activations

Energy built around a reveal. Music timed to the moment, sound that fills the space, and a setup that stays out of your staging and photography.

Client & employee appreciation

Recognition events, milestone celebrations and team nights, including karaoke, where the point is that people actually enjoy themselves rather than check their watches.

Company picnics & family days

Outdoor sound, announcements, and a family-appropriate set that works with kids in the room and executives in earshot.

The standard

What professional actually means

Every DJ says they are professional. Here is what I mean by it, specifically, so you are not taking it on faith.

01

Clean edits only

Radio edits across the board unless you tell me otherwise in writing. No profanity, no explicit content, nothing that puts your HR team in an awkward conversation on Monday morning.

02

Volume your guests can talk over

During dinner and networking, sound sits under conversation. Nobody should have to lean in and shout to talk to a client. Volume comes up when the program calls for it, not before.

03

Dressed for your room

Business formal by default, matched to the event. If your guests are in black tie, so am I. Your DJ should read as part of the event, not as a contractor who wandered in.

04

Discreet setup, on your schedule

Setup and load-in happen before doors, on whatever timeline your venue requires. Cables managed, footprint kept tight, nothing competing with your branding or your photographer's shots.

05

The room read continuously

Top 40, R&B, rock, Latin, Caribbean and classics, moved between as the room shifts. A hundred and fifty people from different departments and generations do not share one taste. Finding the overlap is the job.

The volume should let people talk through dinner and still fill the floor an hour later.

Sound & AV

One vendor for the sound

I bring my own system into corporate spaces, and where a venue has a house system I have the experience to wire into it directly. That means one vendor to coordinate instead of two, and no finger-pointing if something needs solving mid-event. I handle audio. If your event also needs staging, screens, projection or LED walls, I coordinate with your production company rather than replace it.

  • Full sound system brought in, or integration with house audio
  • Wireless microphones for speakers and presenters
  • Presentation and video audio routed through the system
  • Live musicians and performers connected into my rig
  • Separate coverage for reception, dinner and program spaces
  • Backup equipment on site at every event

Brand-matched enhancements. Uplighting in your company colors and a logo projected on the dance floor or wall are available through trusted event partners, coordinated as part of the same booking.

The details

  • Coverage area. Home base in Palm Beach County, plus Miami-Dade, St. Lucie, Broward and Martin counties. Events farther out are quoted individually.
  • Continuous performance. The music does not stop for breaks.
  • Arrival. Early enough to finish setup and sound checks well before guests arrive.
  • Additional hours. Can be added if the night runs long.
  • Not included. Parking and valet fees where your venue charges them.

Working with your team

Easy to put through procurement

You should not have to chase your DJ for paperwork. Everything your finance and legal teams need is ready before they ask. Tell me what you need on the booking form and it comes back with your quote.

Certificate of Insurance on request

A Certificate of Insurance is available upon request, issued to meet your venue's requirements. Most South Florida venues will ask for one, and I handle that directly with them.

W-9 and vendor onboarding

W-9 provided on request, and I will complete your vendor onboarding forms and supplier registration without you having to follow up.

Purchase orders and terms

Standard terms are a signed agreement and 30% retainer to hold the date, with the balance due 14 days prior. For established companies I also work against a purchase order on net 30 when your payment cycle requires it.

Contracts and documentation

Every booking runs on a signed agreement covering scope, hours, coverage and cancellation. Detailed invoicing, and I am comfortable working inside your legal and procurement review process.

Schools and institutions

School events buy the same way you do

Proms, homecomings, graduations, pep rallies and field days run on the same requirements as a corporate booking: insurance, paperwork, written quotes and a vendor who will not create a problem for the person who hired them. If you are an activities director or a parent organisation, here is what you need from me.

Clean edits, not negotiable

Clean versions are the default on every school booking, not something you have to ask for or check afterwards. If your principal wants to review the playlist in advance, send it up and I will provide it.

Certificate of Insurance

Available on request and issued naming the School Board, so the paperwork side is handled before anyone asks you for it.

Quotes for your internal funds

Most school purchases need written quotes before the bookkeeper can process them. Tell me what your district requires and I will turn mine around the same day in the format your paperwork needs.

Proms and formals

Whether it is in your gym or a hotel ballroom, the plan is the same: arrive early, test everything before doors, cue the court announcements and the last dance to your timeline.

Graduations and award nights

Processional and recessional music, microphones for the program, and volume that lets a room of families hear every name read.

Pep rallies and field days

Loud where it should be, controlled where it should not. Outdoor sound sized for open ground, and a wireless microphone for whoever is running the program.

How school bookings usually work

  • Who books. Usually the activities director or a class sponsor, with the principal approving and the bookkeeper paying.
  • Paperwork. W-9, Certificate of Insurance and a signed agreement, all provided without you chasing me for them.
  • Background screening. Florida requires screening for contractors on school grounds while students are present. Ask me where I stand with your district before you book and I will tell you straight.
  • Lead time. Proms and graduations fill the earliest of anything on the calendar. Earlier is better, and spring dates go in the autumn.

Planner questions

What event planners ask

Can you provide a certificate of insurance?

Yes. A Certificate of Insurance is available upon request, issued to meet your venue's requirements. I coordinate with the venue directly so it is not another item on your list.

Do you DJ proms and school dances?

Yes. Proms, homecomings, graduations, pep rallies and field days, on campus or at a hotel. Clean edits are the default on every school booking, and I can provide a playlist in advance if your principal wants to review it.

Our school needs three written quotes. Can you provide one?

Yes, and same day. Tell me what your district requires on the quote and what format your bookkeeper needs it in, and I will match it. I would rather fit your paperwork than make you rewrite mine.

Are you background screened for school events?

Florida requires Level 2 screening for contractors on school grounds while students are present, through the district. Ask me where I stand with your specific district before you book and I will tell you straight rather than guess.

Do you work on a purchase order, or net 30?

Standard terms are a signed agreement and a 30% retainer to hold the date, with the balance due 14 days before the event. For established companies I also work against a purchase order on net 30 when that is what your payment cycle requires. Tell me early and we will structure it to fit your process.

Will you complete our vendor onboarding paperwork?

Yes. W-9, supplier registration, insurance documentation and any forms your procurement team needs. Send them over and they come back completed.

Our venue has a house sound system. Can you use it?

Yes. I have the experience to wire into house audio directly, and I can also bring a full system into a space that has none. Either way it is one vendor handling the sound.

Do you keep the music clean?

Radio edits across the board unless you specify otherwise in writing. No profanity and no explicit content at a company event, full stop.

Can you handle our program, not just the music?

Yes. Walk-on and walk-off music, award and recognition segments, microphone handoffs to your executives, presentation audio and the transitions between them. Send me your run of show and I will build around it.

Our team spans a wide range of ages and backgrounds. How do you handle that?

That is the part I am best at. Top 40, R&B, rock, Latin, Caribbean and classics, moved between as the room shifts. A hundred and fifty people from different departments never share one taste, so the job is finding the overlap and staying on it.

How far in advance should we book?

December holiday party dates start going in September and October. Conferences and launches usually come together in four to eight weeks. If your date is close, call or text, it is worth asking.

Do you travel outside Palm Beach County?

Palm Beach County is home base, and I regularly work in Miami-Dade, St. Lucie, Broward and Martin counties. Anything beyond that is quoted with the package.

Let's talk aboutyour event.

Send the date, headcount and what the program needs, and a quote comes back within 24 hours.
