DJ in Boca Raton · Palm Beach County

Hire a DJ in Boca Raton who reads your room.

Private parties, birthdays, milestone celebrations, weddings and corporate events across Boca Raton and south Palm Beach County. I play open format and read the floor as the night goes, and when your event is at a club I handle their vendor requirements before the date.

What people hire me for here

Most Boca bookings start as a private party

Weddings and corporate events are a real part of the work, but the bulk of it is someone throwing something for family and friends and wanting the night to land. If you are looking for a DJ for your event in Boca Raton, or to hire a DJ for a private party, this is the part that matters. More on how I plan these is on the private events page.

Milestone birthdays

Fortieth, fiftieth, sixtieth, and the surprise parties that come with them. These rooms usually hold two or three generations, which is the whole reason to hire a DJ instead of running a playlist.

Quinceañeras and sweet sixteens

A formal program early, then a floor that has to stay full for hours. The music moves between what the family wants and what the fifteen-year-olds want, and both matter.

Bar and bat mitzvahs

A bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah is effectively two rooms at once, the kids and the adults, and both have to be working. I am a DJ first, so for a full hosted program of games I would recommend a separate MC and I work alongside one happily.

Anniversaries and vow renewals

Smaller rooms, longer memories, and a guest list that spans decades. Restraint matters more here than volume.

Graduations and retirement parties

A short speech or two, then the floor opens. I cue the formalities to your timeline so nobody has to chase a microphone.

Holiday and backyard parties

Home events, clubhouse rooms and backyard setups across Boca and the surrounding communities. Karaoke can be added as part of the night or as the main event.

If your event is at a club

Boca events usually come with a rulebook

More of Boca Raton runs through country clubs, private communities and resorts than almost anywhere else in the county. That means the venue is often not the only party with an opinion about your event. There may be a board, an approved vendor list, a volume limit, a dress expectation and a hard end time. None of it is a problem. All of it is worth knowing before the date.

Approved vendor lists

A lot of clubs keep one. If yours does, tell me early and I will go through whatever their process is rather than leaving you to sort it out two weeks before your event.

Certificate of Insurance, sent directly

Clubs and resorts almost always ask for one. A Certificate of Insurance is available upon request and I send it to your venue myself, so it does not sit on your list.

Volume limits and end times

Many clubs cap volume or set a firm cutoff, sometimes earlier than you would expect. I confirm both with the events team so the night is planned around the real limit rather than ending abruptly.

Dressed for the room

I match the formality of your event. If it is black tie, I am in black tie. Your DJ should look like a guest you invited, not like a contractor who wandered in.

Service entrance load-in

Private communities and clubs often route vendors through a gate, a guard list and a service entrance. Getting my name on the list ahead of time is the difference between setting up early and sitting at a gatehouse.

Discreet setup

Cables managed, gear tidy, nothing visible that does not need to be. In a room this formal the setup should disappear into the background.

The rooms in Boca

Boca Raton event venues

Boca has more country club ballrooms than most cities its size, plus resorts, museums and a handful of smaller rooms. Here is the landscape and what each kind of space tends to ask for.

The Boca Raton

Boca Raton

The largest room in the city, scaling past a thousand. Events at this size are production jobs, and coverage has to be planned across the whole floor.

The Addison

Downtown Boca

Historic setting for roughly 300, with a courtyard. Indoor and courtyard in one event usually means sound in two places.

Boca West Country Club

Boca Raton

Club ballroom up to about 300. Expect member rules on volume and end times, which I confirm ahead of the date.

Broken Sound Club

Boca Raton

Club space for as many as 500. Larger club rooms often split a cocktail area from the main ballroom.

The Polo Club of Boca Raton

Boca Raton

Private club for around 500. Gate lists and service entrance load-in are part of the plan here.

St Andrews Country Club

Boca Raton

Club setting for roughly 350. Formal rooms, formal setup.

Woodfield Country Club

Boca Raton

Around 340. Country club events frequently move between an outdoor ceremony or cocktail hour and an indoor reception.

Boca Lago Country Club

Boca Raton

Up to roughly 400. One of the larger club ballrooms in the area.

The Club at Boca Pointe

Boca Raton

About 300. Member-rules venue, same considerations as the other clubs.

Boca Country Club

Boca Raton

Roughly 300, with golf course grounds for outdoor portions of an event.

Waterstone Resort & Marina

Downtown waterfront

Around 170 on the Intracoastal. Waterfront and open air change how sound carries, and wind is a real factor.

Boca Raton Marriott at Boca Center

Boca Raton

Hotel ballroom up to roughly 350. Hotels are predictable: known power, known load-in, consistent room behavior.

Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel

Boca Raton

About 240. Mid-size hotel ballroom, straightforward to plan for.

Boca Raton Museum of Art

Mizner Park

Roughly 125. Museums usually mean protected surfaces, rigging limits and a quieter setup.

Pavilion Grille

Boca Raton

Around 240 in a room built with a dance floor in mind.

The Loft at Congress

Boca Raton

About 150 in an industrial-style space. Rooms like this are naturally reflective, so managing that matters more than volume.

This is a guide to the kinds of rooms in Boca Raton, not a claim that I have worked all of them. For any venue that is new to me, I confirm power, load-in, vendor requirements and end times with their events team before your date. If your club is not listed, ask.

Reading a formal room

Restraint first, then the floor

Formal rooms are easy to get wrong in the same two ways. Either the DJ plays it so safe that nobody dances, or they treat cocktail hour like the last set of the night and the room never recovers.

Dinner should be at a volume where your guests can talk to each other without raising their voices. Then the floor opens, and that is when the open format matters: Top 40 and current hits, R&B, hip-hop, Latin, Kompa, Zouk, Soca, Afrobeat, reggae and the classics people actually get up for. Boca rooms often hold a wide age range, and moving between decades without losing anyone is most of the job.

The hardest part of a formal room is reading the exact moment the floor is ready.

What I cover here

The three ways Boca books me

Boca bookings tend to fall into one of these, and each is planned differently. I cover the rest of the county too, including West Palm Beach and Wellington, and there is more on how I work here.

Private events

Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, retirement parties, graduations, bar and bat mitzvahs, holiday parties and karaoke nights. Planned around who is actually in the room rather than a default set list.

Weddings

Ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, with separate sound for separate spaces when the day moves between them. Announcements cued to your timeline, and direct coordination with your planner.

Corporate events

Company parties, galas, fundraisers, conferences and client events. Clean edits, controlled volume, dress that matches the room, and setup finished before guests arrive.

Practical details for Boca Raton

  • Coverage. Palm Beach County is home base, and Boca is a regular drive. Broward, Miami-Dade, St. Lucie and Martin counties are covered too.
  • Vendor requirements. Send me the vendor packet from your club early and I will handle my part of it directly with them.
  • Certificate of Insurance. Available upon request and sent to your venue directly.
  • End times. I confirm the cutoff with your venue up front so the last hour is planned rather than cut short.
  • Continuous performance. The music does not stop for breaks.
  • Not included. Parking and valet fees where your venue charges them.

Boca Raton questions

What clients here ask

My club has an approved vendor list. Can you get on it?

Send me the club's requirements and I will go through their process directly. Most of what clubs want is a Certificate of Insurance and a signed vendor agreement, both of which I handle myself. Tell me early rather than two weeks out and it is straightforward.

Our club caps the volume. Is that going to be an issue?

No, and I would rather know the number than guess at it. A capped room changes how I build the night, not whether it works. Most volume complaints come from a DJ running dinner at reception level, which is a choice rather than a limitation.

Our venue has a hard end time. How do you handle that?

I confirm it with the events team and plan the last hour around it, so the night lands rather than stops. If there is any flexibility to add time, that is a conversation to have with the venue early, not at eleven o'clock.

How do you dress?

To match your event. Black tie event, black tie. I would rather be the most overdressed vendor in the room than the one who stands out for the wrong reason.

Do you do bar and bat mitzvahs?

Yes. They need a different plan from a wedding, because you are running two rooms at once in effect, the kids and the adults. I am a DJ first, so if you want a host running a full program of games and hype, I would recommend a separate MC and I work alongside them happily.

Can you coordinate with our planner and the club at the same time?

Yes, and I prefer it. Send me both contacts and I will coordinate directly rather than routing everything through you. Your event runs better when the vendors talk to each other.

What kind of music works in a formal Boca room?

Open format, and the mix depends entirely on your guest list. Top 40, R&B, Latin, Caribbean, Afrobeat and classics are all in play. What matters more than the genre is pacing: conversation volume through dinner, then building once the floor opens.

Do you travel to Boca from Palm Beach County?

Regularly. Palm Beach County is home base and Boca is a normal drive, with no travel fee inside the counties I cover.

Do you carry insurance?

A Certificate of Insurance is available upon request. Clubs and resorts in Boca almost always ask, and I send it to them directly.

Let's talk aboutyour event.

Send the date, the club or venue and a rough guest count, and I will tell you whether I am open.
