DJ in West Palm Beach · Palm Beach County

Based in Palm Beach County, so your venue is never a long drive.

I am based in Palm Beach County, so your event is not a two-county drive for me. I get to your venue with time to spare, I know how load-in works downtown, and everything is tested well before your first guest walks in.

Why local matters

Your DJ should not be fighting traffic on I-95

Plenty of DJs will take a West Palm Beach booking and drive up from Miami or Fort Lauderdale on the day. That works right up until it does not. I am based in Palm Beach County, so getting to your venue is a short drive rather than a gamble on afternoon traffic, and I have the time to set up properly instead of arriving in a hurry.

Early is the whole point

I arrive with enough time to finish setup, run sound checks and review cues before your first guest walks in. Nobody should hear a microphone being tested while they are looking for their seat.

One drive, not two

Being local means I am not adding travel risk to your timeline. If your event runs long and you want to add time, I am not watching the clock because of a two-hour drive home.

I know how downtown works

Load-in downtown is different from load-in at a country club. Loading zones, service elevators, parking garages and valet all change how early I need to be there. I plan for the venue you actually booked.

Backup stays in reach

Backup equipment travels with me to every event and stays on site. It is rarely needed. It is always there.

The rooms in this city

West Palm Beach event venues

West Palm Beach has an unusually wide range of spaces, and each one asks for something different from a DJ. A museum courtyard is not a hotel ballroom, and neither is a lawn on the Intracoastal. Here is how the main ones break down and what each type needs.

Palm Beach County Convention Center

Downtown

Large-format space seating well over a thousand. Rooms this size need sound coverage planned across the whole floor, not a system aimed at the middle of it.

Hilton West Palm Beach

Downtown

Hotel ballroom capacity up to around 700. Ballrooms are predictable in the best way: known power, known load-in, and a room that behaves the same every time.

The Ben West Palm

Downtown waterfront

Boutique hotel space for roughly 200. Smaller rooms reward restraint. Volume that works in a ballroom is too much here.

Kravis Center

Downtown

Event space scaling to around 700. A performing arts campus has its own house systems and its own rules about what plugs into what, so this is one to confirm early.

Norton Museum of Art

El Cid

Museum setting for roughly 250. Museums usually mean protected surfaces, tighter rigging limits and a quieter approach to setup.

Ann Norton Sculpture Garden

Intracoastal

Outdoor sculpture garden for about 150. Open-air sound does not bounce off walls, so it needs more coverage and better placement than an indoor room of the same size.

Mounts Botanical Garden

West Palm Beach

Garden setting for roughly 150. Beautiful, and entirely dependent on where the power actually is. Worth walking before the date.

West Palm Beach Lake Pavilion

Waterfront

Waterfront pavilion for about 175. Wind and open water change how sound carries, and a pavilion is neither fully indoors nor fully out.

Manatee Lagoon

North end

Waterfront venue for around 175. Same considerations as any Intracoastal space, with the view doing a lot of the work.

The Club at Ibis

West Palm Beach

Country club ballroom up to roughly 480. Clubs often carry member rules on volume and end times, which I confirm with their events team.

Breakers West Country Club

West Palm Beach

Club setting for about 250. Formal rooms call for a formal setup and a DJ dressed to match the event.

Bear Lakes Country Club

West Palm Beach

Club space for roughly 250. Golf club events frequently split between an outdoor ceremony or cocktail area and an indoor reception.

Grandview Public Market

Warehouse District

Open market space for around 100. Industrial rooms are loud by nature. Controlling reflection matters more here than raw volume.

National Croquet Center

West Palm Beach

Around 200, with substantial lawn. Indoor and outdoor in one booking usually means sound in two places.

Palm Beach Zoo

Dreher Park

Roughly 200 in an outdoor setting. Animal-adjacent venues tend to have firm sound limits, and rightly so.

This is a guide to the kinds of rooms in the area, not a claim that I have worked all of them. Before any venue that is new to me, I confirm power, load-in and layout with their events team ahead of the date, and I walk the space when the layout or production calls for it. If your venue is not on this list, ask. Odds are I can tell you something useful about it.

The room you actually have

West Palm Beach crowds are not one crowd

This county holds a lot of different rooms. A birthday party in West Palm Beach might have three generations in it, guests from the islands, guests from up north, and a group of twenty-somethings who came to dance. One genre does not cover that.

I play open format, which in practice means Top 40 and current hits, R&B, hip-hop, Latin, Kompa, Zouk, Soca, Afrobeat, reggae and the classics people actually get up for. The point is not the list. The point is knowing which of those to reach for at ten thirty when half the floor has sat down and the other half is waiting to see what happens next.

Half the job is noticing the floor thin out before anyone else in the room does.

What I cover here

Three kinds of night

Most of what I do in West Palm Beach falls into one of three categories, and each one is planned differently. I work across the county, including Boca Raton and Wellington, and there is more on how I work here.

Private events

Birthdays, milestone parties, anniversaries, graduations, quinceañeras, holiday parties, backyard events and karaoke nights. This is the bulk of my work and the part I plan most closely around who is actually in the room.

Weddings

Ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, with separate sound for separate spaces when your day moves between rooms. Announcements handled, timeline followed, and coordination directly with your planner.

Corporate events

Company parties, holiday events, galas, conferences and brand activations. Clean edits, controlled volume, dress that matches the room, and setup that happens before anyone important is watching.

Practical details for West Palm Beach

  • Home base. Palm Beach County, plus Miami-Dade, St. Lucie, Broward and Martin counties. Events farther out are quoted individually.
  • Continuous performance. The music does not stop for breaks.
  • Outdoor sound. Many venues and neighborhoods set an outdoor cutoff time. I confirm yours with the venue rather than finding out on the night.
  • Power. Garden, lawn and waterfront spaces vary in where usable power actually sits. Worth sorting before the date, not on it.
  • Certificate of Insurance. Available upon request, and I send it to your venue directly.
  • Not included. Parking and valet fees where your venue charges them.

West Palm Beach questions

What people here ask

Are you actually based in West Palm Beach?

Palm Beach County is home base, and it has been since I started in 2010. I also work regularly in Miami-Dade, St. Lucie, Broward and Martin counties. For a West Palm Beach event, I am local, which mainly means I am not adding a long drive to your timeline.

Do you charge a travel fee within Palm Beach County?

No. Palm Beach County is home base. Events outside the five counties I cover are quoted individually, and I will tell you up front rather than adding it later.

Have you worked at my venue before?

Ask me and I will tell you straight. If I have, I will say what the room is like. If I have not, I confirm power, load-in and layout with the venue ahead of your date, and I walk the space when the layout or production calls for it. I would rather find out about a tricky load-in two weeks early than on the day.

Our ceremony and reception are in different spaces. Does that cost more?

It changes the setup rather than the approach. When your event moves between spaces, I bring separate speakers for each rather than tearing down and rebuilding in between, so there is no gap in sound while guests move. Tell me early and it gets planned in.

What kind of music do you play?

Open format. Top 40 and current hits, R&B, hip-hop, Latin, Kompa, Zouk, Soca, Afrobeat, reggae and classics. West Palm Beach crowds are genuinely mixed, and the job is reading which of those the room wants at a given moment rather than running a set list from start to finish.

Can you handle announcements?

I am a DJ first, and I handle the announcements an event needs, cued to your timeline. If you want a host running games or a long program on the microphone, I would recommend a separate MC and I am glad to work alongside one.

Do you do karaoke?

Yes, as an add-on or as the main event, run through a licensed professional catalog big enough to cover most requests. It works well for birthdays, holiday parties and backyard events. Ask and I will walk you through what is involved.

How far ahead should I book?

For a Saturday in season, earlier is better. Peak dates in Palm Beach County go months out. If your date is closer than that, call or text anyway. It is always worth asking.

Do you carry insurance?

A Certificate of Insurance is available upon request. Most venues in the area ask for one, and I send it to them directly so it is not another item on your list.

Let's talk aboutyour date.

Send the date, the venue and a rough guest count, and I will let you know whether I am open.
